Gunpowder 9475 #2
Gunpowder tea is a form of tea in which each leaf has been rolled into a small round pellet. Its English name comes from its resemblance to grains of gunpowder. The production dates back to the Tang Dynasty 618-907, the tea leaves stay fresh longer than any other green tea leaves due to its compressed form. To make this tea each silvery green tea is withered, fired and then rolled into a tiny ball, a technique perfected over centuries to preserve freshness. Once in the cup with hot water added, the leaves of the shiny pellets unfurl back into life. Gunpowder often used as the base tea when flavoring green tea, it is perfect for blending with mint leaves to create a famous cup of “Moroccan Mint” tea. Moroccan mint is a blend of gunpowder green tea and spearmint leaves, which brews a pleasant, refreshing cup. Moroccan mint tea is often steeped much longer than normal green tea is, and is traditionally served sweetened. It is one of the most versatile green teas in the world–you can drink it with milk, it's great for blending, you can add it to cocktails, or cold-brew it.
