Fannings are small pieces tea that are left over after higher grades of teas are gathered to be sold, the fannings of expensive teas can still be more expensive and more flavorful than whole leaves of cheaper tea. Technically, they're a lower grade tea, but they still have a wonderful, grassy sweet flavor, this makes them perfect for teabags. Most fannings teabags produce strong flavor and can be sweetened with sugar as per the taste. Fannings can create somewhere around 3x the number of cups of tea per oz that full leaf teas. It requires paper bags, cotton bags, or an infuser small hole as to not allow for the small particles to pass through the infuser into the liquid.
