Gold silk is a gourmet Chinese black tea native to Yunnan Province, the name if given because of the large amount of fine golden hairs on the leaf tips present in the dried tea. The tea is made with buds. The brewed tea liquor has a deep, rich, orange colour, with a soft, sweet pale malt extract aroma. In the mouth it is sweet, astringent, moderately thick in texture, and tastes like seville orange peel, and pale malt, vaguely nutty like brazil nuts, with a lingering tart, sweet finish.
