White dragon pearls are made from young buds and leaves that are rolled into pearls, unlike slver needle white tea, which utilises only the buds or the tips of the tea plant, these white dragon pearls consist of one bud plus one to two leaves, hand chosen during the picking process. The inclusion of additional leaves results in a slightly stronger and more pronounced flavour when compared to many other white teas made exclusively from buds.
